BlockHack 2021 Fall Edition (FE) is a week-long virtual hackathon, conference/workshop and startup pitch for all levels. Learn from industry professionals, make new friends, make something cool and possiblily grow it to a company! Over the course of BlockHack, you'll form a team, decide on a project, and develop it from start to finish with the support of our mentors. After BlockHack, you'll not only have this project but also the tools to learn more, and grow it to a startup if you want to.
BlockHack is for anyone who wants to learn how to build their own blockchain powered from scratch! We will start from the very beginning, teaching Individuals how to use editors. Sessions will be held in blockchain use cases, platforms coding languages. Attendees will be able to build a functioning blockchain powered app during the hackathon and maybe even try and raise funds for further development.
BlockHack Conference gives the hackathon teams to showcase their work to the general audience,
sharing their thought process as well as future roadmaps.
It will also give time for audience feedback Q&A for each team that can further explore usage and
applications of their projects in the real world. The conference will also feature talks given by
leading figures in the blockchain ecosystem, discussing some of the current and emerging trends with
the technology and its application.
As part of the BlockHack Conference, Bitcoin Bay will be providing BlockHack Voting Tokens (powered by the SimpleLedger Protocol) to attendees. These voting tokens are transferred from the attendees to the hackathon teams of their preference. The Bitcoin Bay prize will be distributed to the teams proportionate to their holdings of the voting token. These tokens are only used for the BlockHack Conference and for memorabilia purposes post-event.
The start up track offers BlockHack attendees a chance to see startup in the process of raise capital, as well start up looking to raise captial to pitch to investor groups
The Blockhack workshops are open to both hackathon and conference attendees.
They run from 45-90 minutes. Roughly half of the workshops present general information about the blockchain space,
and half coach hackers to help them succeed at Blockhack..
Workshop presenters come from around the world and work on many exciting crypto projects!
BlockHack Global has multiple prizes. Each team can opt-in to multiple bounties and (or) tracks. There will be different submission requirements for each category.
What is a hackathon?
Apply your technical skills to build an awesome project! Individuals who attend the workshops can apply their newly-acquired skills to create something they can call their own! Smart contracts, Websites and mobile apps are common hacks, but you can build anything! Think outside the box :)
How will BlockHack work given the virtual setup?
All the essential parts of our event remain the same! You'll still get to meet other hackers, attend amazing workshops, conference, and win prizes :) We do recommend that you have Discord and Zoom installed ahead of time as the majority of our events will be held on there!
Do I need to attend both the hackathon and the conference?
Nope, you can attend either one or both! However, only participants who participate in a track workshop during the conference or submit a project for the hackathon will be eligible for anything (swag).
I'm new to Hackathons, can I still join in?
Absolutely! We encourage folks from all walks of life to participate in BHG. All that is required is a passion for building a more decentralized and inclusive world, and a willingness to get your hands dirty by trying new approaches. We especially encourage people that come from non-technical backgrounds to bring their skills to the table; we need business-minded folk to create exciting new business models, designers to create beautiful user interfaces and experiences, and to marketers to help bring these ideas to the masses.
How will teams work? What if I don't have a team?
During our hackathon, you'll have the opportunity to create a project in a team of up to 4 people. Don't worry if you don't have a team now, we'll have team formation and ideation sessions at the beginning of the Hackathon, so there'll be plenty of time to meet new people!
Does BlockHack Global cost money?
Admission is free and includes mentors, workshops, swag, resources, and an unforgettable experience!
