Like no other Hackathon

  • 2009-2014

    Beginnings

    Bitcoin Bay Founders were brought together by the creation of Bitcoin.

    Bitcoin was released into the wild as 
an experiment, on peer to peer, digital payment system

  • March 2014

    The Birth of Bitcoin Bay

    After realizing the need for a blockchain community with a focus on networking Bitcoin Bay Meetup was formed

  • December 2017

    Bitcoin Bay & Blockchain Hub collaborate.

    Bitcoin bay and The Blockchain Hub partnered as their interests aligned 
to idea of accelerating the 
blockchain ecosysytem

  • Spring 2018

    BlockHack Toronto

    Bitcoin Bay created BlockHack, a hackathon inclusive to all technologies to help accelerate business, development and blockchain technology

Common Questions

What is BlockHack?

Blockhack is a blockchain and distributed ledger technology agnostic hackathon, which means we don't care what platform you want to build off, just build; if you want to develop your own blockchain or DLT come and just build!, Just build!, Just Build!

Who can particpate or attend the Hackathon?

Hack Track (Hackathon)
Anyone can register to participate in the Hack Track, the BlockHack committee will be reviewing all registration and only those select will be able to participate in the Hackathon (Hack track).

Workshop Track
The workshop track is opened to the general public as well as those that have been approved for the Hack track, if you are interested in blockchain, DLT, crypto currencies we will love to see you there. To attend please visit our eventbrite link and purchase a ticket for the workshops track.

Is there a cost to attend BlockHack?

Hack Track
The fee structure for those that have been approved for the Hack Track is:
  1. Students : FREE with a valide student ID
  2. General : $10.00
This also give you access to all workshops and panel discussions.
Workshop Track
  1. General Addmission: TBA

How many people can be on a team?

Minimum team Members: 2
Maximum team Members: 5

Will there be prizes?

Yes, there will be prizes, we are still working out the details, hence TBA.

Am I allowed to work on the project before the hackathon?

NO... You can work on the outline and structure but you must not do any coding, development until the hackathon.
